Senior Recital: Esther Chang

Among the (many!) impressive recitals presented this semester by BYU piano majors was Esther Chang’s Senior Recital, which featured works by Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin.

Esther also programmed a special homage to her Chinese heritage, presenting five selections from Tan Dun’s “Eight Memories in Watercolor”. These contemporary works (originally written in 1978 and then revised for a premiere by Lang Lang in 2002) feature traditional Chinese folk tunes set against the vivid imagery of Tan Dun’s childhood in Hunan.

Congratulations, Esther!
